As Senior Vice President of Marketing, Susan Shafer finds inventive, effective ways to tell Advent’s story — and the stories of our clients.

Susan’s background includes experience managing communications for non-profits, corporate clients and several years in the Nashville area agency world.  She earned her bachelor of arts in journalism and public relations from Auburn University, and went on to work as an account executive with Buntin Public Relations.

It makes sense that Advent would be drawn to a marketing professional as story-driven as we are. “I am inspired by stories,” she says. “Everyone has a story, and once you learn someone’s story, it always explains so much. We all tend to judge based on appearances, but I’ve learned that when you understand someone’s story, all tendencies to judge just disappear.”
