The Carol Soffer Indoor Practice Facility gives University of Miami Football one of the few amenities it has been lacking. The 83,000-square foot facility allows the Hurricanes to practice despite the unpredictable South Florida weather. But more important, Miami Football has the recruiting asset that has been lacking in comparison to other power programs. Inside the practice facility, branding and design complement the natural surroundings of affluent and tropical Coral Gables. The facility reflects the contemporary Hurricanes culture while celebrating the moments and players who built Miami into a national championship program.

Design elements in the practice facility visualize a brand that “invented swag” but no longer revels in it. The graphic style presents a clean and sharp brand that emphasizes class and reflects the on-field speed that differentiates the Hurricanes’ style-of-play. “The U” speaks for itself through a 30-foot-wide, internally lit logo and the “It’s All About the U” brand message. The result is a functional, yet beautiful space.
