The arrival of a new coach and athletic director marks a new era for Evansville Basketball. Designs and exhibits in the entry, players lounge, practice gym and hallways of the Purple Aces’ practice facility represent a part of a rebranding initiative that points to the future of Evansville. Light on Division I tradition but long on fan loyalty, Evansville presents a brand where the current generation of recruits and student-athletes can ignite a hungry local fan base.
At the entrance of the facility, Evansville communicates to visitors its partnership with Nike through a gear display and a timeline of the relationship. In the hallways, Evansville displays coaching mantras and program core values conveying an NBA-style of play. Throughout the space — particularly in the players lounge and practice gym — the Purple Aces connect the current squad with the program’s history, retired jersey players and most famous basketball alum, Jerry Sloan.
