Field Installation Lead/Superintendent

The Field Installation Lead/Supervisor (FILS) is tasked with managing the installation process to deliver a finished product with excellence while delighting the client at every touchpoint.

The Field Installation Lead/Supervisor (FILS) is tasked with managing the installation process to deliver a finished product with excellence while delighting the client at every touchpoint. We are looking for people that have a heart for service and hold themselves and those with whom they interact to the highest standards.

Duties

FILS are asked to lead installation team(s) in the field to complete projects on time and on budget. This position would be a contract/as-needed basis. This will require, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Planning and implementing to ensure all materials, supplies and equipment align with the fabrication and installation schedule
  • Hands-on building and/or fabrication experience
  • Reviewing production documents and shop drawings with extreme attention to detail for quality and accuracy
  • Knowing and understanding contract documents with both clients and vendors on the given project(s)
  • Leading discussion to solve any issues during fabrication and installation with appropriate parties
  • Developing a WAP (work action plan) before each installation
  • Leading and managing fabrication team(s) to accomplish goals of the given project(s)
  • Planning and coordinating with any vendor’s lead installers to ensure a successful installation process
  • Supervising project partners, foremen and crews while on-site
  • Managing and tracking work progress using tracking spreadsheets and software
  • Maintaining safe worksite conditions
  • Leading site walk-throughs and planning for installation process
  • Creating updated “as build” drawings of exhibits and graphics as they are modified in the field
  • Having quick decision making skills and the ability to solve problems “on-the-fly”
  • Day-to-day communication with clients and vendors regarding installation process
  • Scheduling internal and external project team meetings—as needed
  • Logistics coordination
  • Expense tracking and reporting
  • Keeping multiple projects on track at the same time
  • Traveling required
Qualifications

Passion for serving people well

CSM/Construction Management background (5 to 10 years)

Fluent in building/construction best practices

General understanding of design and construction terms

Flexible schedule

Highly organized and must have attention to detail

Proactive self-starter with a positive attitude and an inquisitive personality

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or similar/equivalent experience
